Once women realize that they have to weight traing and do the right exercise routines, they always wonder if they really have to take a protein supplement.

Women have a fear of protein because of the negative influence of the bodybuilding world. A common fear of most women is that taking supplements like protein will make them gain tons of muscle like men do. You really don’t have to worry about that because it won’t happen… you won’t get big by taking protein. Gaining size really won’t happen if you are women and it’s more an issue of eating too many calories and it’s not a supplement issue alone.

It’s true that protein shakes do have a lot of calories, but protein shakes with some added ingredients make a real great meal during your day.  In fact it’s a great meal after your gym workouts… after you’ve burned lots of calories.

The bottom line is, protein is something you really need to add to your diet and it will definitely help you lose weight.   It’s best to only use whey protein and not take soy protein.   Many studies have shown that a lot of soy consumption can lead to breast cancer, so I just recommend staying with quality whey protein.   When you go shopping for protein, you will see there are an incredible amount of difference proteins, so if you have any specific questions, I suggest just asking your doctor to be sure.

Do your best to stay away from whey proteins that have tons of extra ingredients and things that try to make it even more effective.   Most of the time all these extra enhancements really just add extra sugar and other things into your diet.

Whey protein really is great for your diet because it supports your lean muscle growth which helps you burn fat and it also helps you recover faster after your workouts.   If you struggle with sweets then you can make delicious protein shakes that can help you curb those cravings.   If you have access to the right recipes and a good imagination then you can make some great protein shakes that support your body with tons of nutrients for optimum health.
