Theroux travels to California, home of the body beautiful, to see if he can join the world of extreme body building. After working out with Guy Grundy, a leading amateur, he soon realises he is not cut out to be a muscle man and goes off in search of another role in the body-building world. Theroux travels to Charles Peeple’s farm in Connecticut, where Peeple’s has transformed his farm into a playboy mansion for female body builders. While here, Theroux gets a part in a female muscle film being made at the farm.

@themanbearpig Sorry, should have clarified. There is a family in America called the Phelps who belong to the Westboro Baptist Church (Louis Theroux did a weekend with them which is somewhere here on YT, look for ‘Most Hated Family in America’.
They have some… interesting ideas, but I won’t spoil the surprise if you haven’t heard of them

I came away from this documentary feeling completely different about the subject, cementing my belief that Theroux fucking rules.
These guys physically harm nobody, probably not even themselves (and if they do it isn’t enough to negate the joy they give themselves and the community).
They come across as nice people – if you disagree, contrast with the wretched fuckers that are the Phelps family and put it in perspective.

I think people are very judgemental and shouldn’t judge these women before they know them. In say that i think their view that 90+% of men like muscly women is wrong. I think they adopt this philosphy because it makes them feel better, but is false never the less.
