Muscle Building Tips
I run now and then, but want to run consistently, I’m thin and have a high metabolism, so I don’t gain weight too easily.
I want to build some lean muscle, not get jacked or anything, and I’m prepared to eating heathily… but I’m not a huge fan of the whole 45 min. long workout routine (only because my willpower seems to fade a few weeks in)
So how can I accomplish this while running every two days or so?
Which exercises will be most effective?

simple…if you want to run then run. it will make you very lean and define your muscle build. If you want some mass and dont like the gym atmosphere, best thing is pushups, pullups, and situps/crunches. just do them before you go to bed or anytime you get a chance.makes you stronger and builds endurance.

I run every other day… that way my legs get a break after every work out. On the days that I don’t jog, I lift weights. I have Wii Fitness Coach, so I do the exercises on there. But I really like jogging a lot more.
Rock wall climbing, Archery, swimming and badminton are all pretty good too.

To build muscle mass the best thing to do is high weight low rep exercises. Just weight lift once or twice a week and run in between.

The combination of running and weight training will get you where you want to be in no time. You can run 5 or 6 days a week. If you can get in 20 to 25 miles a week, and bench a weight that you can due 10 or 12 reps 3 or four times & due curls with dumbells 3 days a week, crunches and chin ups ( buy a bar for about $15.00 ) whenever you can, you will get cut and have definition in no time. And if you are as lean as you say you will be able to see your abs ( 6 pack ) shortly. I am only 140 lbs. I run 50 to 55 miles per week, and weight train 5 days a week and can becnh 165, due 500 crunches 5 days, an 100 chin ups 7 days. I’m not very big, but being cut and having definition with almost no body fat is an awsome combination. Make sure you are consuming enough healthy calories – very important – but none of these protien shakes that are out there – you can do it all naturally with hard work.
