go to the gym and work on machines that excel in building upper body muscle
also run on a track or treadmill
this will also build muscle

I agree with poloman. Go to the gym and built up your muscle. The best way is swim lot and your muscle will built.
I bet you’ll feel the improvement.

Try doing weight lifting and pull ups for upper body strength before swimming. Make sure you also remember your legs that’s where most of your power is going to come from. For leg strength try running a lot before swimming and doing leg presses before swimming. That builds more muscle.

Swim with all your clothes on. It provides awesome resistance. When it comes time to swim without clothes on after swimming with clothes on all the time, you will fly through the water.
